Expository Inspiration

This blog is for the creative writing of Nathaniel Halstead. This is not meant for exhibition, but rather that the reader would be inspired to glorify God through further study of His Word. Each poem is based off of a Bible verse, that would be a great starting point for a study!

  • “Back to Praise”

Back to Praise: A 31 Day Psalter Devotional is a book for the parent who never gets to drink their coffee while it’s hot, the Sunday School teacher who wants their students to have a daily Biblical devotion, or any Christian who knows that “self-help” is just not helping.

Back to Praise is a collection of 31 poems that goes through four Psalms verse by verse with a reflection and prayer for each day, it’s perfect for a quick three to five minute reading each morning.

    Day One;

    Psalm 1:1

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”

Do not listen to the wicked

From sin’s way be ye restricted

The doubter’s seat is not your own

This sinful world is not your home

Reflection; Have you been given advice that sounds good at the moment, but does not line up with the Bible?

Prayer: Lord, help me to follow your word over anyone else’s

  • Kings

    From rushing towards his giants

    To gross abuse of compliance

Bathsheba was not found at fault

    Under David’s kingly assault

    Uriah was a faithful man

    Undone by David’s kingly plan

They wanted kings instead of priests

Upon the weak the kingly feast

  • Poem for the Day

    Purpose over prosperity

God’s will, no matter what may come

His Word speaks with such clarity

Man’s words only leaves men undone

    Obey Him with sincerity

    Purpose over prosperity
